Look Young and Feel Good

15 Must DO Things for a Healthy Body and Mind

                    (in no particular order)

  1. Skin health

The first look matters: for yourself, look after your skin from age 21 by keeping it hydrated day and night; always wear an SPF screen both with the moisturizers and your foundation. It has been proven by science that body and skin peptides and tissues start degenerating from 20 years’ age

  1. Infertility

The statistics of infertile people in developed countries are quite alarming. One in every 6 couples is infertile and One in 3 are cases where men are infertile. Some of it has to do with stress, diet, an overload of information, and major diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Materialism. Women are postponing having children by freezing their eggs. A lot of this is related to the meat industry and fast-food culture as well.

  1. Body fitness

Exercise regularly to keep your muscles toned up. There is no substitute to walking, jogging, and running in keeping your metabolism active and blood flows regulated. The fulvic acid in our bodies keeps the momentum of blood flows besides other minerals. But sometimes our bodies just don’t make enough of CoQ10. Especially when aging you need to check the levels of CoQ10and may need supplements, natural or man-made

  1. Active & Curious minds

Every time you get a chance to do puzzles or build a Lego, play cards, poker, or chess, jump for it, with a can-do attitude. Keeping your mind actively working and quizzical is in your hands.

  1. Balanced Diets

Ensure having a balanced diet with Proteins, Vitamins, Carbs, and Minerals. There wouldn’t be any need for crash diets or intermittent fasting if we ate healthily. Mind you, I’m not against fasting. it's good for the stomach and the soul. Tension eating is one of the important issues in our lives and becomes a vicious circle. Obesity leads to overeating and binge eating and vice versa. The use of alcohol also does the damage in affluent and below poverty line societies.

  1. Fast foods, Sugar & Salt

Avoid fast foods and sugary bakes as much as you can. We need to do as we preach to our children. Our food habits swing between processed meats, energy drinks, and specialized dessert restaurants. Leave aside MacDonald’s, Wendy’s and Ice-creams to indulge our children, we eat out more and more. You may be knowing renowned chefs who brag about eating home-cooked meals and don’t eat at their own restaurants and buffers.

  1. Natural Foods

Having natural foods is a must. Foods that deliver high quantities of Omega 3, anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, and immunity-boosting properties. The obesity epidemic has taken the developed world by a storm and the shocking rate of major diseases taking lives is beyond the comprehension of the common man. Educated people like you have started making smart choices. The developing countries are starting to pod along. Having said that, too little too late.

  1. Education and awareness

Always check the ingredients in packed foods before you buy them. Specifics like saturated fats, sugar, and carbs must be kept to the minimum. Educate your children early on to read labels and decipher things that are unhealthy choices. They’ll thank you for this life skill.

  1. Natural Superfoods

Try and take natural superfoods high in enzymes, minerals, fulvic and humic acids to keep your blood & metabolism moving, detoxing, and regenerating your cells. With bio-regenerative keep your fountain of youth and defy mental aging at the same time.

  1. Consumption of herbs

Not all herbs are good or bad. To keep your tree of life healthy and young, consume herbs with dopamine, chamomile, lavender, jasmine, saffron and others in consultation with Ayurveda doctors or naturopaths, depending on your specific body type. Some of you may not like the taste of herbs and may not like to take them directly. With innovations in the food and beverage industry, you have plenty of choices, from tea, coffee, and other beverages to your favorite Choco balls.

  1. Root vegetables recently acquired the name “superfoods”

Ancient civilizations and food historians have always known the intrinsic value of some basic root vegetables, but in the last few decades, they have come to be known as superfoods of high value due to their high anti-oxidant, minerals, and vitamins’ content. Including the use of superfoods like ginseng, Indian ginseng, ginger, and garlic in your daily diet. You can use the above according to your taste and this will assist you in tackling, indigestions, detoxing, pains, viruses, and boosting your immunity.

     12.  Technology and its woes

While technology is a boon and has opened the world to infinite possibilities in most fields it has its own adverse consequences. Take extended breaks from technology to avoid Adrenal fatigue and mental decline.

      13. Rituals and a quiet mind

Start your mornings with some rituals. Rise and shine early in the mornings for better focus especially during the twilight moments (between sleep & wakefulness). Once you become aware you will want to focus on better mental agility. A quiet mind is an aware mind and as Eckhart Tolle in his book “The power of now”, puts it as ‘awareness’ and the ‘now’ through concentration and meditation can achieve happiness.

      14. Fear of Aging

Many millennials find it hard to comprehend and come to terms with aging, lack of possibilities, and diseases in the twilight years. Some of you may actually be fearing aging partly due to the big mysteries of major diseases and viruses still unsolved and mainly due to the lack of money due to most pension and, super-annulation funds and deferring of the age of pensioners’ issues. Listen to your heart, nurture your body and mind and you must not fear to age. With a little health consciousness and financial planning, life can be really good for you to post your children leaving the nest.

  1. Synthetic Supplements

There is nothing wrong with taking synthetic supplements that are ethically prepared and processed, nutritional supplements, like Chondroitin & Glucosamine, but it's better to take them in the natural form if you can help it. The two supplements have been taken for centuries for joint pain relief and osteoarthritis. Natural and essential supplements that boost Chondroitin & Glucosamine effectiveness are Turmeric Curcumin, Boswell Serrate, Hyaluronic acid, and Methylsulfonylmethane.
